Behind the Vision:

Real Conversations with Real Founders Making it Work

I’ll be honest – I’m still pretty new to this whole business thing myself. When I started A Burden Shared in May, I had this lightbulb moment: what if I could actually take some of the overwhelming stuff off entrepreneurs’ plates so they could focus on what they do best? The idea felt so right, I’d done it so often in every business I’d worked in, but the reality of building something from scratch? That’s been a whole different story.

As I’ve been finding my feet as a VA and OBM, I keep meeting these incredible founders who seem to have it all figured out. But the more I work with them, the more I realise they’re all winging it (to some degree) just like me. And that got me thinking: what’s really going on behind the scenes? What drives someone to start a business when it would be so much easier to just get a regular job?

I created A Burden Shared because I genuinely believe in lightening the load for other business owners. But now I’m curious about the people behind these businesses – what makes them tick? What keeps them going when things get tough? And how do they deal with that little voice that whispers, “what if this doesn’t work?”

So I’m trying something new. Instead of just being the person who helps organise the chaos, I want to sit down and actually ask these questions. I want to hear the real stories (the hard truths), not the Instagram-worthy moments, but the 2 AM doubts, the breakthrough moments, and everything in between.

Whether you’re a fellow entrepreneur, someone thinking about taking the leap, or just curious about the minds behind the businesses you admire, I hope these conversations give you something valuable. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned from working with founders, it’s that their stories are never quite what you expect and that’s exactly what makes them worth telling.

I’ll be sharing stories as I collect them, and as a literature nerd plus avid people watcher, this is going to be heaven for me!
